You may have spotted this pattern before - I originally designed it for one of the Stash Busting Quickies collections I did with Marly Bird! It's been a few years now, and I've decided that it's time to share this pattern here on the blog as well!

Add this pattern to your Ravelry Queue and Favorites
U.S. J - 6.0 mm
100 - 150 Bernat Velvet (100% polyester, 315 yds / 288 m, 10½ oz/300 g, CYCA# 5 bulky)
Colorway Used: #32004 Burgundy Plum, 1 ball
Gauge: 12 sc and 9 rows = 4” [10 cm]; use any size hook to obtain the gauge
Finished Measurements: 5” [13 cm] wide by 14” [35.5 cm] long when laid flat (fits standard wine bottle)

Velvet Luxe Wine Bag Instructions
Round 1 (RS): Make a Magic Circle, work 6 sc in circle, join with sl st in first sc. (6 sc)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, join with sl st in first sc. (12 sc)
Round 3: Ch 1, *sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from * around, join with sl st. (18 sc)
Round 4: Ch 1, *sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; repeat from * around, join with sl st in first sc. (24 sc)
Round 5: Ch 1, *sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from * around, join with sl st in first sc. (30 sc)
Round 6: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join with sl st in first sc.
Round 7: Ch 1, hdc in each sc around, join with sl st in first hdc. (30 hdc)
FINISHING
Fasten off and weave in ends. Fold top over and style as desired.
